Kosha Dillz lands Duck Down deal, new tour

Among the many reports of this year’s Hot 97 Summer Jam, few noted that underground vet Kosha Dillz won the station’s freestyle battle, which was held on a side stage.

“I won the hot 97 battle this past week and blazed multiple emcees…and realized I won the crowd over…i could’ve said kat in the hat..yep..i couldve said that in the last round and won,” noted Mr. Dillz in a post on his website. The prize for his efforts is a single deal with increasingly dope indie-rap label Duck Down Records.

Other projects on the Jewish MC’s plate include a forthcoming album, Beverly Dillz, and another national tour. These dates take place in July and weave along the same hole-in-the-wall, spread-the-message trail once blazed by Living Legends and Atmosphere.
