Kidz in the Hall support Obama with “Change,” tour

As fellow Chicagoans, Kidz in the Hall have made a lot of noise about supporting Illinois senator Barack Obama. In December, they recorded a tribute track, “Work It Out,” to the prospective Democratic presidential nominee. Now they’ve made a new cut, “Work to Do (Obama for America remix).”

The song, which features verses from Talib Kweli and Bun B, finds Naledge rapping about Obama as an agent of political change. “We don’t need a new Clinton in office,” he says over a Double-O beat that interpolates the chorus from the Isley Brothers’ “Work to Do.” “The reality is we need a new man/Critics say we can’t but Barack say we can can.” You can stream it on Allhiphop.com’s website.

“Work to Do (Obama for America remix)” is the first cut leaked from DJ Green Lantern’s forthcoming mixtape with rap tycoon/Hip Hop Summit Action Network leader Russell Simmons, Yes We Can. The mixtape is set to drop next month. Meanwhile, Kidz in the Hall are preparing for the May 13 release of their new album, The In Crowd, with a tour of several East Coast colleges. They’ll complete an undercard for headliner pop-punk-rap band Gym Class Heroes alongside rock band I Am the Avalanche and teenage cornball Tyga. The itinerary is below.
